Introduction to Nottinghamshire’s SEND Local Offer

Easy read

The Nottinghamshire SEND Local Offer is a comprehensive, openly accessible guide to services, support and opportunities for children and young people aged 0 – 25 years with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and their families. It brings together information from across education, health, social care and community services, as well as voluntary and private sector support, so that families and professionals can easily find what is available locally without having to navigate multiple systems.

Designed to be a one-stop, searchable, impartial resource, the Local Offer helps families understand and access services ranging from early years settings, schools and short breaks to health services, social care, transport and preparing for adulthood pathways. It supports informed decision-making and planning, whether for everyday activities or statutory support such as Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans.

The Local Offer also includes materials shaped by local co-production, reflects current practice in SEND improvement, and offers practical guidance alongside links to further information and tools such as glossaries and support networks across the county.
